Cambodia alleges chemical injuries as Thailand steps up strikes near border

Cambodian soldiers claim to have suffered chemical weapons injuries, citing symptoms like blindness and suffocation, an accusation Thailand denies. Thailand acknowledges its air strikes are hitting targets deep inside Cambodian territory. Civilian casualties are mounting, with Thailand holding a funeral for its first civilian killed. Over 800,000 people have been displaced as both sides issue mandatory evacuation orders and prepare for a protracted conflict. Each nation blames the other for starting the hostilities and accuses the other of attacking civilians.

Al Jazeera’s Jack Barton reports from a displacement camp in Sisaket Province in Thailand.
